A guest speaker is coming from Gateway Greening to tell us about their mission. There will be a nice variety of flower seeds which, KHNA has purchased for all in attendance to share and free copies of The Gateway Gardener magazine as well.
We will have information on recycling etiquette and recycling containers at a bargain price from Brightside St. Louis.
We have a worthwhile door prize, too, from Lesher’s Flower.
Start learning a bit at our meeting about gardening. You, too, can have a back yard garden to enjoy!

GSA STUDENTS HELPING OUT
We’re looking at April 14th this spring for Gateway Science Academy students to earn some required service hours helping us tidy the neighborhood..and/or a “Blitz” day with supplies and support from Brightside St. Louis. Not limited to students, we will need as many helpers as possible! Stay tuned!

WE ESPECIALLY INVITE…

10th Ward Alderman Joe Vollmer, whose ward includes most of Kingshighway Hills; 23rd Ward Alderman Joe Vaccaro, whose ward includes the blocks south of Pernod and west of Brannon. They faithfully attend our meetings, so here’s your chance to meet them and ask questions. Also, Police Officers Veile and Stehlin are invited to speak and answer and questions.

Board Elections Next Month

Are you interested in helping improve your neighborhood? Do you have a specific cause that you care about, and you think it’s something the neighborhood should help with? Or do you just think it’s about time somebody else replaced that guy who always sits at the front of the room during meetings?

Now is your chance! Neighborhood elections are next month, and we think you’d make a great candidate. All positions are up for election.

To be eligible, you must be 18 and either live within our boundaries or own property within our boundaries. You must also be a dues paying member. Our dues are a steal at $10 for an individual or $15 for a family. You can even pay at the election meeting and be eligible to run.

2017 Holiday Event at Family Forward (FRC)

KHNA is super excited to again have their Holiday event at Family Forward (they used to be called the Family Resource Center). Our event will be Thursday December 14th at 6pm, at the FF building located at Fyler & Kingshighway. We’ll wrap gifts for the kids, help decorate their facility, and have some light snacks.

What can you bring to donate to the cause?
Feel free to bring a NEW gift that can be wrapped and given to the kids they support – but don’t feel obligated. They already have tons of gifts, and what they need most from us is the wrapping. If you do want to bring a gift they especially need books for teens, or baby board books, since they run out of those first. Stuffed animals are great too. They also need wrapping paper and gift wrapping supplies. They go through a lot of it!

Want to know more about Family Forward?
Their mission is to give kids a chance at a better life by preventing and treating all forms of child abuse and neglect by strengthening families through family-centered therapeutic, educational, and support services. Visit their website for more info.
