October Happy Hour

Happy hour… Meetup… Tweetup… call it whatever you like, just be sure to join us on Thursday 10/30 6pm at Southtown Pub. We had a great turnout last time, so let’s continue that trend!

You don’t need to be a dues paying member of the neighborhood association to join us (though we wouldn’t mind if you threw us a few bucks). All neighborhood residents are welcome at the happy hour. We’ll be in the upstairs room at Southtown.

2014 KHNA Festival Cancellation

There will not be a 2014 Kingshighway Hills Festival. Due to an unexpected 240% increase in the rental fee for our location, and faced with not enough time to find & publicize a new location, the KHNA Board had to make the difficult decision of canceling this year’s festival. We have already started the search for a new location that can host the festival, with hope that we can resume it in 2015.

KHNA December Event at FRC

Last year we met Tina from the Family Resource Center when she came and introduced us to what a great organization the FRC is. It seemed like a no-brainer that we should try to get our neighborhood more involved with the FRC, so we’re proud to announce that this year’s December event will be at the Family Resource Center.

Our event will be December 12th at 6pm, at the FRC (at Fyler & Kingshighway). We will take a tour, wrap gifts for the kids, and have some snacks. Feel free to bring a NEW gift that can be wrapped and given to the kids they support.

Want to know more about the FRC?
Their mission is to give kids a chance at a better life by preventing and treating all forms of child abuse and neglect by strengthening families through family-centered therapeutic, educational, and support services. Visit their website for more info.

IMG_20130518_193633

THANK YOU to all of the volunteers (you know who you are) who helped put on our first annual KH Fest┬áthis past weekend; we quite literally couldn’t have done it without you. And thank you to the neighbors that saw our signs and decided to come out, and to Alderman Vollmer and Collector Daly for stopping by as well. We had BBQ, music, a magician, games, and two raffles. It was a great time.

Now it’s time for our annual break… no meetings over the summer. See you all in September!

Happy Holidays!

arch_santa_hat_2

The Kingshighway Hills Neighborhood Association wishes everybody in Northampton and beyond a happy and safe holiday season.

There will not be a KHNA holiday/Christmas party this year. See you all at the next general meeting in March 2013!
